BEGINNERS DRAWING
BEGINNERS DRAWING
WED. 1/23-3/6 (6 week session)
4:30-6PM
AGES 9+
$120
Students will learn the fundamental skills of drawing, progressing at their own pace. We will move from simpler linear subject matter to more complex three-dimensional subject matter as skills develop. All students will begin drawing, guided by a customized introduction to drawing techniques and materials. Students will learn basic drawing methods and how to use light and shadow to represent form. The premise is that anyone can learn to draw. This class will teach the visual arts by developing the student’s ability to see relationships. Through this drawing method, students learn that all forms can be broken down into simple shapes. A step-by-step instruction would enable them to use these shapes to create basic line drawings. With this technique, students learn classical principles of drawing, and gradually train both their eye and their hand. Through exposure and practice, the techniques become each student’s tools, which can be applied to increasingly sophisticated subject matter, developing their ability to draw realistically.
